The extremist parties AUR – SOS – POT obtained about 40% of the votes in Constanta county in the parliamentary elections. In the county of Tulcea, the three parties exceeded 40% in both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.

The extremist AUR party came out first in Constanta county in the parliamentary elections, ahead of PSD, PNL and USR. It won big cities such as Ovidiu, Năvodari, Mangalia, Costinești, Agigea, Hârșova, run by Liberal and Social Democrat mayors.
The pole of extremist parties formed by AUR – SOS – POT obtained almost 40% of the votes in Constanța county, both in the Chamber of Deputies and in the Senate, while at national level, the three so-called sovereignist parties have passed 30%.
PNL barely makes it to the 4th spot in Constanta, under leadership of liberal Vergil Chițac
In the municipality of Constanta, led by liberal Vergil Chițac, the PNL ranked only 4th and AUR 3rd. PSD and USR came first. SOS and POT together took over 17% in Constanța county. In the municipality of Constanța, SOS and POT ranked after PSD, USR, AUR and PNL, crossing the electoral threshold.
In Valu lui Traian, a locality that has been led by the liberal Florin Mitroi for 20 years, AUR came first, followed by PNL.
AUR – SOS – POT, over 40% of the votes in Tulcea
In Tulcea County, the three parties AUR – SOS – POT obtained over 40% of the votes in the parliamentary elections. Even so, PSD won the elections in Tulcea, followed by AUR and SOS. The county is led by social democrat Horia Teodorescu.
In the municipality of Tulcea, led by liberal mayor Ștefan Ilie, PSD won, followed by AUR and USR. PNL came only 5th, with just over 9 percent, behind SOS in both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
Context
Dobrogea was the region with surprise percentages for both extremist parties in the summer’s European Parliament elections, the highest for SOS and among the highest for AUR.
Info Sud-Est has analyzed the vote in each neighborhood of the two municipalities of Constanta and Tulcea, where the parties got the most votes in the two counties (in terms of number of votes). The analysis shows that AUR and S.O.S. obtained the most votes, in general, in social welfare neighborhoods, low-income or working class neighborhoods.
